
Pogeria ("progeros" meaning 'prematurely old' ) is a genetic disease also known as "Hutchinson–Gilford progeria syndrome", "Hutchinson–Gilford syndrome", and "Progeria syndrome". This is a genetic disorder that is extremely rare having an incidence rate of one per eight million live births with signs and symptoms commonly seen in the aspects of aging are manifested at an early age. Those diagnosed with are only given about thirteen years.
Disease Progression..
The earliest symptoms of Progeria includes:
- Localized scleroderma-like skin condition.
As a child ages past infancy, additional conditions become apparent:
- Limited growth
- Alopecia
- Distinctive appearance (small face and jaw, pinched nose)
Later, the condition causes:
- Wrinkled skin
- Cardiovascular problems
There are 100 Medical Records of this Genetic condition.. around 40-50 cases are known all over the world.. There is even one family in India where his five children are suffering from Progeria.. There is no cure .. and no treatment.. only precautionary measures to avoid complications in the cardiovascular..
